Family and Friends,
Given events since our previous post, we wanted to provide an update with some exciting news relative to our butcher shop plans.
Starting in February our plan is to take over the space known for providing the best barbecue around for over 25 years—Beale Street BBQ, located at 215 Water St in downtown Bath, Maine. As many of you know, in December of last year Mike at Beale Street BBQ decided to take a rest after a long and successful run with the restaurant. While we won’t be providing sit down meals (at least not yet), we are very pleased to continue the tradition of meat-focused quality and customer service that Mike started with Beale Street.
We are also very excited to announce that Patrick Tweedie has joined us as Head Butcher and Assistant General Manager. Patrick worked at Rosemont Market as a butcher and grew to love the craft of whole animal butchery, which is something we can’t wait to share with our customers. We welcome Patrick and know that his experience and culinary creativity will bolster our commitment to quality and customer service.
Our new equipment is currently on order and expected to be delivered in February. With some time to update the space and get everything set up, we are very hopeful that we can open in the spring, targeting April. Keep your eyes out for new signage and our coming soon banner!
We are very pleased to have the opportunity to be located in downtown Bath, and despite the delay, we remain very excited to bring the highest quality meat and provisions to Bath in the coming months.
